In the early hours of 23 April 2026, our world changed forever. My beloved sister, Shona Travis, sadly passed away at the age of 40 after a courageous battle with cancer.
There are moments in life when words never feel enough, and this is one of them. The loss of Shona has left a space in our hearts that can never truly be filled.
Shona was more than a sister. She was a loving mother, a treasured daughter, a loyal friend, and a caring soul who touched so many lives. She had a kindness that made people feel welcome, a strength that inspired others, and a love that she gave so freely to those around her.
Above all else, she was devoted to her four young children, who meant everything to her. They were her pride, her joy, and the reason she kept fighting through the toughest days. Her love for them was endless, and that love will remain with them always.
Though cancer took her far too soon, it never took her courage. Shona faced her illness with incredible bravery and dignity, showing strength right until the very end.
Her passing has brought heartbreak to family, friends, and everyone who knew her. She leaves behind precious memories, laughter, love, and a legacy of compassion that will never be forgotten.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help support the family with funeral costs during this incredibly difficult time. Any additional funds raised will go towards helping support Shona’s four children and providing them with care and stability in the months ahead.
Any kindness, donation, or simply sharing the fundraiser would mean more than words can express to the family right now.
At Hopwood Radio, we send our deepest condolences and love to everyone mourning this heartbreaking loss.
Shona, you were taken far too soon at just 40 years old. You were loved beyond measure and will be missed every single day. Your pain has ended, but your memory, your love, and your spirit will live on forever.
Rest peacefully
