A grieving family has spoken out about what they describe as years of torment caused by a “nightmare neighbour” while a mother battled terminal cancer and struggled to raise her children under extreme emotional pressure.

According to relatives, the mother spent years trying to shield her children from ongoing complaints and confrontations while also enduring cancer treatment and the devastating reality of her illness.
Family members allege that repeated complaints were made to both the council and social services whenever the children played outside the family home, with accusations that the children were being “too noisy” despite relatives insisting they were simply behaving like normal children.
The family says the constant complaints left the children feeling trapped inside their own home.
“The children became prisoners in their own house,” one relative said. “They stopped wanting to play outside because every time they did there would be another complaint made. Even when they stayed indoors there were still allegations that they were making too much noise.”
Relatives claim the ongoing situation placed enormous emotional strain on the terminally ill mother during an already unbearable period in her life.
“She was trying to fight cancer while also trying to protect her children from constant stress,” a family member explained. “Nobody should have to go through that while receiving treatment and trying to be a mother.”
According to the family, the complaints became so frequent that authorities eventually informed those involved that the children were simply playing normally and that no further action was needed.
The family also alleges there were occasions where confrontations happened directly at the property itself, including one incident where the neighbour allegedly knocked at the door to complain about noise while a social worker was sitting inside with the mother.
Relatives describe the situation as “living in hell” and say the mother became increasingly isolated during the final stages of her illness.
Throughout 2025 and into 2026, family members claim the mother began shutting herself away from relatives and refusing support from loved ones, insisting that everything was under control despite obvious signs of emotional exhaustion.
“She stopped allowing people in,” a relative said. “Even her own mother wasn’t allowed inside the home anymore because she kept saying everything was fine and that the children were taking care of things.”
The family believes years of stress, trauma, and emotional pressure contributed to a serious decline in the mother’s wellbeing during her final years.
Tensions allegedly continued even after her death.
On the day of the funeral, family and friends gathered outside the family home before the funeral procession began. According to several relatives and mourners present, the neighbour shouted toward members of the grieving family: “See, I didn’t get arrested, did I?”
Family members say the remark related to a previous police report concerning alleged harassment and social media posts which relatives describe as defamatory, false, and deeply upsetting during an already traumatic period.

Despite the mother’s passing, the family says the distress has continued.
“We’ve lost a sister, a daughter, and children have lost their mother,” one relative said. “Yet there is still upset being caused to this day. No family should ever have to endure this.”
The family is now speaking publicly in the hope of raising awareness about the emotional damage prolonged neighbour disputes can cause, particularly where vulnerable families, illness, and children are involved.
The family also claims there is further information surrounding the neighbour’s alleged behaviour that they describe as “deeply shocking and disturbing,” alleging that despite attempts to portray herself publicly as a caring friend and supportive neighbour to the deceased mother, evidence and documented events tell a very different story.
The family states that the terminally ill mother endured years of alleged harassment, upset, and emotional stress from the moment she first moved into her home on Latrigg Crescent, Langley, Middleton, with relatives claiming the problems escalated further after her cancer diagnosis in 2021.
According to family members, what should have been a safe and peaceful home instead became a place of constant anxiety, complaints, confrontation, and emotional pressure while the mother attempted to battle serious illness and raise her children.
The family further alleges that the so-called “nightmare neighbour” repeatedly attempted to make situations about herself whenever support, sympathy, or attention was being directed toward the terminally ill mother and her children.
Relatives claim the neighbour sought to portray herself publicly as the innocent party and as a caring friend and supportive neighbour, while privately causing what the family describes as years of emotional distress and trauma.
According to the family, evidence and documented incidents they say they possess reveal what they describe as the “real” side of the neighbour’s behaviour, which they believe has led many people to label her a “nightmare neighbour” within the community.
The family maintains that behind the public image they allege was carefully presented, there was a prolonged pattern of complaints, confrontation, and behaviour that caused significant suffering to a vulnerable mother and her children throughout her cancer battle.
The family believes there is far more to the story surrounding the “nightmare neighbour” than simply repeated complaints and ongoing upset.
Relatives allege there was a prolonged pattern of behaviour directed toward the vulnerable mother and her children which they believe went beyond ordinary neighbour disputes and caused significant emotional distress over a number of years.
The family further claims the neighbour repeatedly attempted to portray herself publicly as a peaceful and innocent individual who had “done nothing wrong,” despite what relatives say is evidence and documented incidents that tell a very different story.
Family members also state they were made aware that police had previous dealings involving the neighbour, something they believe supports their concerns about an alleged pattern of problematic behaviour.
